An important direction of each luxury watchmaker that wants to address its products to a wider range of potential customers and to satisfy the demands of a market that becomes more and more diversified each year is, without a doubt, the use of rich and expensive materials when constructing a timepiece. And Officine Panerai doesn`t break the record from this point of view and succeeds to integrate the 18 ct. polished red gold in this 42mm case, matched with a bezel from the same rich material. And it is no surprise that, due to the simple design lines and thickness of the case, the gold enhances the attributes of this model from the Radiomir watches collection, creating a timepiece that is both practical and elegant, one that can be fitted successfully to any casual or elegant occasion you may think of.
Inside this beautiful case is the P.999 mechanical manual winding movement, manufactured in-house, made from 154 components and offering 60 hours power reserve. It is the smallest movement developed by the brand, build in such way that it fits perfectly in this case dimensions. The hours, minutes and small seconds functions work precisely, as you would expect from a mechanism branded Panerai. The small seconds are represented by a counter positioned at 9 o`clock. And aside from three Arabic numerals and the hour indices (made from rose gold and all luminous when dark), the dial is so airy that the legibility is surely a key target chased by the watchmaker. The simple brown dial contrasts magnificent with the elegant shine of the rich gold and, in the same time, counter-balances it. The final result is a harmonious luxurious case that will not bling at the wrist, but will embrace it in a subtle way. The dark brown alligator strap is soft and has a polished rose gold buckle that, with the specific cushion shape of the Radiomir, creates a unique aesthetic. Same model, but in a 47mm case with the Caliber P3000 can be purchased.
You will find a great pleasure in winding it up, as you can also feel the quality of the materials and the time spend in making it work flawless.
The small, thin and high-performing caliber can be admired through the sapphire crystal window of the back of the case.
Initially designed to meet the needs of the Italian commandos, the Radiomir series is of course waterproof tested, and the rose gold model offers a 100m water resistance.
Once you give it a wrist time, you will completely understand why the Radiomir series creates all this fuzz among the watch collectors or watch enthusiasts. You will feel it as part of your body and it will radiate its faith in the Panerai`s rich and proud history when it comes to high-end watchmaking. It is the kind of watch that, by its subtlety, its classic lines and its high mechanism standards, distinguishes among other watches. This is completely understandable giving the recognition that Officine Panerai has gained through the years, a name synonym with innovation, grandeur and outstanding quality of all products.
