Description
The Constellation collection was unveiled in 2009 and it represents a modern upgrade for a classic line that has been among Omega best-selling designs for decades. It was initially named Constellation Manhattan and it was first launched in 1982. The watch was received with enthusiasm and appreciation due to its distinctive “Griffes” or claws, and striking dial. To keep the pace with today’s trends, this very popular collection was reinterpreted with contemporary features meant to attract the modern wearers.
Even though the Constellation has been redesigned, its DNA keeps most of the original aesthetic details, such as the iconic star logo located at the 6 o’clock position and the familiar “Griffes”. These particular elements represent the dramatic signature marks that define every watch in the collection and the 27 mm Co-Axial automatic ladies model with a black dial and stainless steel case is no exception.
The stunning black dial with grayish “claws” resonates spectacularly with the brilliance of the 11 diamonds hour markers which accentuate the preciosity of this feminine timepiece. The small date window at the 3 o’clock position, the silver triangular shaped hands coated with “Supernova” and the star logo are other features that complete the overall stylish and extravagant look of the watch. Over this artfully constructed dial there is an anti-reflective scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that is highlighted by a fixed, brushed stainless steel bezel with elegantly engraved Roman numerals that offer better legibility. At the 3 and 9 o’clock position the bezel is marked with two parallel shiny horizontal lines.
This Omega Constellation for ladies comes with a 27 mm brushed stainless steel case that measures only 9 mm thickness, and is water resistant to depths of 100 meters/ 330 feet. It is an elegant and slim looking model that feels highly comfortable and luxurious on the wrist. The caseback is made from sapphire crystal and it offers a nice view of the Co-Axial 8520 automatic movement. Also, the comfort factor is ensured by the flawlessly crafted brushed stainless steel band fitted with a push button folding clasp.
The collection evokes classic appeal while exuding uniqueness, design excellence and functional innovation. Among its best assets we should mention the Omega Co-Axial Escapement movement – Caliber 8520. This highly precise mechanical self-winding movement with a rhodium-plated finish has a power reserve of 50 hours and sports automatic winding in both directions.
Just like every constellation has its brightest star, Omega offers one luxury collection that shines more exquisitely than the others. This is the Constellation line, a series of brilliantly extravagant timepieces that were designed to encapsulate a powerful visual identity defined by a traditional look, dramatic materials, captivating glitter and modern technology. It is the quintessential Omega for a lighter touch of luxury.
