Description
The Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial 41mm is a truly beautiful timepiece from luxury watchmaker Omega. It features all of the hallmarks of the Omega brand with a blend of high quality craftsmanship and luxury design.
Anyone that is a fan of the stainless steel appearance of many timeless Seamaster models will appreciate the style and sophistication of this particular model, but the injection of rose gold really sets it apart from the rest.
This model is somewhat smaller than many others found in the Seamaster collection, with a round case that measures 41mm. As previously mentioned the case and band are made from a blend of stainless steel and rose-gold, making this one of the more luxurious models available.
The outer links of the strap consist of stainless steel with a brushed finish, while the edges have a polished finish to them. At the centre of the links is 18 kt sedna (rose) gold, the same material that is used for the crown.
A matte black colour with a sandblasted finished is used for the dial of the watch and makes for a nice sharp contrast with the steel and gold colours. It also has recessed index hour markers that have a vintage coloured luminescent fill.
Numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 are displayed with a printed marker and there are also finer markers used for the minutes and seconds track. The hands are also made from the rose-gold material and have a tapered design and feature the same vintage coloured luminescent fill as the hour markers.
The bezel features the same rose-gold and has notched edges that allow for better grip of the unidirectional rotation, while black a liquid metal ceramic fills the remainder of the bezel. The numbers and indexes on the bezel are made from rose-gold too, which is finished off with a luminescent dot at the 12 o’clock position.
An Omega 8400 automatic calibre powers the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial, producing 25,200 vph. The movement consists of 38 jewels and is water resistant to 300m/1000 ft. By using the mounted twin barrels present in many models from the collection, an impressive power reserve of 60 hours.
The movement also features a quick time-zone correction option. This allows the wearer to easily change to hour hand so that the watch doesn’t need to be stopped, as well as ensuring that the minute hand doesn’t require any adjustments either.
It is also anti-magnetic, making it resistant to magnetic fields that are greater than 15,000 gauss. Another component of the calibre is the Si 14 silicon balance spring. This provides great resistance to shock and other disturbances that could adversely affect the chronometric performance of the watch.
The co-axial escapement is a key component found in most Omega calibres too and is another great way to ensure the performance of the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial 41mm doesn’t diminish over time. This allows for more a more stable and durable movement, whilst also helping to enhance the precision of the piece.
As it is also creates less friction, the co-axial means that the moment requires even less lubrications, which in turn ensures that the time between each servicing of the watch is greatly increased.
The entire workings of the movement can be viewed through the case back which is made from a transparent material. Rotor and visible bridges are just a few examples of parts of the calibre which can be seen, and they even have a very stylish arabesque wave design.
The Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial 41mm is an incredible example of what a luxury Swiss watch should be -masterfully crafted and breath-taking in appearance.
