The Florentine company, Officine Panerai has remained loyal to the original identity of the Luminor Marina so in the current models we can still notice a strong link between the design of the iconic watches manufactured in the 1940s and 1950s for combat divers and the new models. With its large cushion shaped case, distinctive winding crown with protective guard, easy to read black dial and stylish black leather strap, the watch adheres to the classic Panerai style.

The thing that is unique about Panerai watches is their extra-large and fierce looking military inspired stainless steel case. The cushion shape in particular is highly attractive for those who prefer a sophisticated yet timeless design with a nice touch of masculinity. The case measures 44 mm in diameter, is manufactured from AISI 316L Steel and its surface is perfectly polished as to accentuate its classy minimalistic lines. The oversized winding crown is protected by a semi crescent shaped guard that has been exclusively developed and produced by Panerai. The case back is made from full solid stainless steel and it features a screw in system. Also, the construction of the watch’s body focuses on superior water resistance properties which allow the wearer to dive to depths of 300 meters.

Luminor Marina timepieces are famous for their optimally identifiable dials. The black matte face of this model enjoys a nice simplicity that is defined by clean lines and refined details. There are large Arabic numerals in the unique Panerai font, long hour markers, bulky sword shaped stainless steel hours and minutes hands, a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock and a round date window at 3 o’clock. The hour markers and the hands are coated with the brand’s trademarked luminescent material called Luminor. This glow in the dark material offers high legibility for the entire dial even in poor lightning conditions. Symmetry is another important feature of the Pam00104. The small seconds dial is in the left while the date aperture in the right highlighted by a Cyclops lens. The dial is protected by a 3.5 mm thick anti-reflective sapphire crystal that is very resistant to scratches or pressure.

Officine Panerai is renowned for producing some of the most reliable and precise mechanical movements with automatic winding. For this watch, the brand developed a revolutionary calibre that offers superior functionality and durability. The in-house OP III calibre powers the Pam00104, an impressive Swiss movement that has 21 jewels, 13 ¼ ligne diameter, personalized bridges and oscillating weight, and a 42 hours power reserve.
