Every time you are talking or looking at a Radiomir watch, it is essential to acknowledge and  be aware of the history that lies behind this unique watchmaker brand. It’s a history full of war stories, bravery and innovation, the kind of past that is common only to a few of the great international watchmakers. And it’s interesting to see that, now days, this brand hardens it’s neck in order to enrich this collection with models that only increase its value.

And although this brand is now located in Neuchatel, at least for the Radiomir models, the design keeps the main lines of the original models, but carries high-tech mechanisms forged with the best materials.

This particular model strikes with the design simplicity and with the earthy color combo that makes it even more masculine. It has the heart of the P.3000 calibre, developed entirely in-house and first presented in 2011, part of the Luminor PAM00372 model. It has 160 components and two mainspring barrels offer an astonishing 3 days power reserve. The mechanism is visible through the sapphire case-back. What makes this manual winding movement special is the fact that allows you to adjust the hour (by engaging the crown) without moving the timekeeper or the running minutes. It is such a useful function, applied at the level of the black dial through the inclination for the maximum simplicity: only the hours and minutes are displayed on this dial through two hands and hours indicators, baton and round shaped. All luminous, of course, the legibility of this dial being simply amazing in nocturnal conditions. Only the best materials were used when building this timepiece: the 47mm case is made from AISI 316L polished steel, the bezel is also in polished steel and the entire dial is protected by a resistant sapphire crystal. This watch has a water resistance of 100 meters.

The S.L.C from this watch name refer to the Siluro a Lenta Corsa, a slow-speed torpedo used in the World War II by the Royal Italian Navy to sabotage their enemy’s ships. The drawing of this kind of torpedo embellishes the dial and it is positioned at 6 o’clock. The S.L.C inscription is at 12 o’clock, on the flange. This watch is a modern and obviously improved variation of the first Panerai watch ever made, although the original design  is also the departure point for  the Luminor Submersible PAM00305 model. A difficult task for the brand, completed successfully with the launch of this beautiful watch. The iconic sandwich shape case will be the delight of those who enjoy a clean design, one that has a certain vintage feeling, enforced even by the Radiomir Panerai inscription that uses a certain type of characters.

The Assolutamente calf leather strap has removable wire loop attachments and completes the design. You can choose from dark brown or beige colors.

And once you try it on your wrist you will enjoy its comfort and find it impossible not to bond with this timepiece, unique through its daring simplicity and great through its rich history.
