The Rolex Submariner is a true legend since 1954. Over the years, the watch has known numerous subtle upgrades that have enriched its design and functionality. The bracelet and clasp of the watch offer some really useful improvements such as the full solid center links and a better quality of the clasp. The stainless steel and 18 k yellow gold Oyster bracelet isn’t just better constructed and more durable, but it also has a nicer polish which provides a stunning dressy appeal. The upgraded clasp enjoys the new Glidelock system that allows you to slide the adjustment pin without tools so you can make the bracelet larger or smaller by 2 mm. These discrete changes are really nice improvements that augment the high end feel of the Rolex Submariner.

The dial of the watch sports the new Maxi Dial which basically means that the hour markers and the hands are larger. This detail is meant to augment the readability and the masculine look of the timepiece. The 116613 Submariner also comes with the improved SuperLuminova with blue light that has been richly applied on the markers and hands. Previously, this lume used to glow with a green color, but due to Rolex’s recent innovations the new 116613 features the long lasting blue SuperLuminova that enhances the watch’s readability in poor lightning conditions.

Rolex is notorious for keeping its best calibres in production and coming up with significant technical changes meant to improve their performances. The Submariner reference 116613 is powered by one of its most popular and magnificent in-house movement, the 31 jewel Rolex caliber 3135 which has been used on the brand’s watches since 1989. This mechanism has the new Parachrom Bleu hairspring that augments its anti-magnetic, anti-shock and temperature endurance properties. The calibre is known as one of the most robust and reliable movements ever created.
