Recognized all over the world as the symbol of Tag Heuer sport watches, the Formula 1 series is, perhaps, one of the most versatile and offering of all Tag Heuer sport watches collections.

Since its release back in 1986, the developers and design team have continued to work on it in order to improve it, to innovate it and to cement the bond with Formula 1 racing world.

This watch is part of the new Tag Heuer Formula 1 series and it is the perfect expression of the brand tendency to constantly regain the fame of old collections with the help of innovating technology and great design, without wracking the charm of the original models. Not an easy job for a brand that wants to be on top of the market demand. But Tag Heuer`s team has once again proved that modernity does not need to be just about odd design or dozens of unnecessary functions. Simple can deliver impeccable timing as well.

First of all, they kept the round shape case of the original and this model comes in a 42mm brushed steel case. The outer-edge of the bezel and the crown are also polished, the overall look of the case being one of a compact and resistant product. Above the Tag Heuer logo is the applied, large “12” hour marker. The hands have a simple classic sword shape and, along with the hour markers, they are luminescent.

The chronographs are the most appreciate models of the entire collection, as they tend to have basically everything you may want from a sport watch, beginning with a 200 m waterproofness and continuing with the three subdials. The smaller ones are located at 3 o’clock – measuring the elapsed time (seconds) and at 9 o’clock – this is the 30 minute counter (chrono), while the big one, located at 6 o`clock, is the 1/10th of a second counter. The central seconds hand record the chronograph seconds. The pushers that activate these functions are easy to use and perfectly incorporated in the watch body.

Depending on the model, you can choose the color combo that does the job for you, this particular one having a gray dial and blue small second scale and Tachymeter engraving on the bezel. The sporty look is undeniable and yet, the airy dial, the visible quality of the materials, make it elegant and suitable even for a less casual type of outfit. There is nothing to bold and nothing stands out in the design. Just pure technology and perfect finishes.

The date window lays at 4 o’clock and is big enough to assure great legibility without overcrowding the  dial. Its all covered in a scratch resistant sapphire glass and it has screw down crown and case back.

The watch operates just perfect due to its quartz movement, with an outstanding precision that has a variation of only few seconds per month and a service life of at least two years.

Although you are free to choose from a variety of bracelet materials, the black rubber strap with deployment buckle is the perfect choice for a watch that takes its inspiration from the Formula 1 races. It sits right on the wrist and gives you the impression of easiness. It is both robust ans masculine.

Beside buying the brand value, purchasing a Formula 1 model keeps you in the lucky part of the watch lovers that can still appreciate perhaps one of the last models with quartz movement, a watch that is so much more than a great timekeeper: it bears history and the attractiveness of the strong bond with the Formula 1 racing world, two features that only a professional watchmaker like Tag Heuer can keep it going.
