Description
For the last three decades Formula 1 has been Tag Heuer’s casual sports watch, an entry level timepiece equipped with an exceptional quartz movement. But recently the brand decided to improve things a bit by launching the first men’s automatic movement Formula 1 model equipped with the in-house Calibre 16 mechanism. The watch is a wonderful mix between the well-established look of the Formula 1 collection and the amazing performances of a mechanical self-winding chronograph timepiece.
The Tag Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16’s case measures 44 mm in diameter and is wonderfully fitted with a sapphire crystal. With a water resistance of 200 meters, the watch wasn’t created just for racing passionate people, but for water sports fans as well. The splendid aesthetic is complemented by the sporty polished steel and brushed black ceramic bezel which features the tachymeter scale for average speed measurement. The model also comes with a brushed stainless steel bracelet.
The most spectacular part of the watch is the movement. The new self-winding Formula 1 collection is equipped with an in-house Tag Heuer Calibre 16. This 25 rubies mechanism has a 42 hours power reserve and enhances the following features: the date window at 3 o’clock, the 12 hours counter at 6 o’clock, 60 seconds at 9 o’clock and 30 minutes at 12 o’clock.
The dial of the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 is an elegant blend between modern aesthetics and the timeless charm of racing inspired timepieces. The matte black dial, the minimalist steel applied markers, the small white date window and the anthracite dials are just a few of the attributes that make this watch seamlessly attractive to those who prefer a bold and sporty looking watch on their wrist.
Modern, sleek and masculine, the Calibre 16 with black dial and steel case is a beautiful chronograph that offers all the highlights of a mechanical automatic movement watch. Its superior functionality, precise time telling capabilities and water resistance are the things that turn it into one of the most notable Formula 1 inspired timepieces.
